Even though the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns 120-95 in Game 1 of their playoff series, one of their main contributors from the bench might be unable to suit up for Game 2 due to an injury.

While defending Bradley Beal, ‘Wolves forward Kyle Anderson was struck in the midsection by Beal’s right leg as the Suns guard drove in the paint for a layup in the second quarter. As soon as the collision occurred, Anderson was seen grabbing his hip in pain before heading towards the sidelines and into Minnesota’s locker room.

First listed as “questionable” after suffering a right hip pointer, the Timberwolves would rule him out later on in the second half.

While there was no update regarding Anderson’s status for Game 2 of the series, Wolves reporter Travis Singleton, known as Sneaker Reporter, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he happened to speak to Anderson postgame and said he was okay after the incident.

“Just ran into Kyle Anderson leaving Target Center and asked if he’s good,” Singleton said. “He said ‘I’m good, I should be ready Game 2.’ So that sounds encouraging for all Wolves fans worried about Slo-Mo.”

On the other side of the collision, Beal was asked about the situation, hoping Anderson was fine and knew how serious the instance was.

“Yeah, I’m good and I hope Kyle’s good,” Beal said. “I kneed him in the hip or something like that, it was nasty. I can only imagine what that felt like, but no, I’m all good.”

Anderson played just five minutes and scored two points before leaving Game 1. The 30-year-old played 79 games in the regular season, averaging 6.4 points, 4.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Not only is Anderson questionable to play in Game 2, but Suns forward Grayson Allen also left Saturday’s game after spraining his ankle. Allen attempted to drive into the paint at Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns before stepping back and suffering the injury.

If more news on Anderson or Allen’s Game 2 statuses emerges, Burn City Sports will keep you informed.
