Ranked 94th, Moreno earned exceptional praise from the MLB Network crew, who boldly stated, “If he [Gabriel Moreno] continues this offensive momentum, you’re looking at a top-50 player in the sport.”

Moreno joined the Diamondbacks in December 2022, part of a trade that also brought Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to Arizona.

At just 23 years old, Moreno swiftly emerged as one of MLB’s premier catchers. Concluding the season with a .284 batting average and .747 OPS, along with earning the Gold Glove award, acquiring Moreno stands out as one of the Diamondbacks’ best moves in recent years.

During the postseason, Moreno’s performance soared. Despite lacking October experience, he blasted four home runs and embarked on a six-game hitting streak in the NLCS.

With a defensive WAR (wins above replacement) of 3.1, which led the majors, the Diamondbacks are in excellent hands with Moreno behind the plate. Moreno will become arbitration eligible in 2026.
