On Sunday, the (3-11) Arizona Cardinals are on the road against the (5-9) Chicago Bears. What can the Cardinals expect from their star tight end Trey McBride in this game?

McBride has been excellent this season and his production has only increased since Kyler Murray’s return to the lineup.

Over the last five games McBride has caught 38 passes for 425 yards. This includes two games over two games with more than 100 yards receiving.

Will The Bears Slow Him Down?

The Bears have been in the middle of the pack against tight ends this year. They have allowed 701 receiving yards to tight ends and six touchdowns.

Chicago has played against a few tight ends who are considered elite. In week three they played against the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Kelce had seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

In week six the Bears were matched up against the Minnesota Vikings. Their tight end T.J. Hockenson had six catches for 50 yards.

The Bears week 11 match-up was the Detroit Lions. Sam LaPorta has had a great season at tight end for Detroit but was shut down by Chicago. LaPorta had three catches for 18 yards in that game.

This match-up will be very interesting to see if the Bears are able to contain McBride. McBride had over 100 yards against the San Francisco 49ers, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

McBride should still get the most targets of any of the pass catchers for Arizona. He may finish the game with between 6-10 catches for between 60-100 yards.
