Budda Baker Giving Cardinals’ Fans Something To Smile About

On Sunday, the (1-8) Arizona Cardinals were absolutely dominated by the Cleveland Browns. The Browns won the game, 27-0. The offensive performance from the Cardinals was historically bad as they only gained a total of 58 yards.

The offense didn’t give Arizona a chance to win the game but there were some positives on the defensive side of the ball. The main one being the play of All-Pro safety Budda Baker. Baker led the team in tackles with 10 and also made some plays that didn’t show up on the stat sheet. Like pressuring Browns quarterback Deshawn Watson into a bad pass on a fourth down attempt.

This is welcome news for Cardinals’ fans as Baker has dealt with injuries this season. He has missed five of the nine games this year. Baker missed those games while recovering from a hamstring injury. The return of Baker along with the return on quarterback Kyler Murray has shined some light into the darkness of this season.

One thing that Baker is good at, that the Cardinals have not seen from him this season is forcing turnovers and deflecting passes. Last season Baker had two interceptions and seven passes deflected. This is the next step for Baker to look like the All-Pro safety that he truly is.
