Phoenix was once again without Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, so Kevin Durant knew he would have to lead the charge for them once again.

Durant finished with 26 points on only 11 shots (8-of-11), along with seven assists and four rebounds.

Durant’s play helped the Suns (2-1) defeat the Jazz (1-2) 126-104 in blowout fashion.

“Taking 20-plus shots is really not my game unless I really have to,” Durant said. “So tonight I didn’t take a lot of shots but I felt like I had the ball a lot and was able to make plays and put my teammates in good positions and put myself in good positions as well.”

This home opener also brought a lot of extra celebration from the fans, including a reimagined ring of honor ceremony and the Diamondbacks winning Game 2 of the World Series during the Suns’ game to even the series before heading home. Durant could conveniently attend two of these three games.

Durant talked extensively about tonight’s game and these two events during his postgame presser.
