Because of being reportedly $8.67 billion in debt, the parent company of Bally Sports, Diamond Sports, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The Phoenix Suns, Mercury and Arizona Diamondbacks all left Bally Sports and went to local television stations while the Coyotes stayed throughout the summer contractually.

Eventually, with the legal issues going on around the company, Diamond Sports tried to get out of their contract with the “Yotes.

On Oct. 5, it was announced and confirmed that the Coyotes deal with Diamond Sports ended and the NHL club began a new, multi-year deal with Scripps Sports.

Formally, the channel was known as Fox Sports Arizona, but Bally Sports’ future existence in the state is unclear with their current bankruptcy situation.
