The San Francisco 49ers have the third ranked offense in the NFL. They are scoring 30 points a game so far this year. One of the main reasons their offense is successful is the plethora of weapons they have at their disposal. The wide receiver depth may be shallow in this one if Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are unable to play.

Aiyuk did not play in their Thursday night win over the New York Giants due to his shoulder injury. In the previous two weeks Aiyuk and quarterback Brock Purdy seemed to really have a connection. Aiyuk had 11 receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the first two games.

Samuel picked up the slack in Aiyuk’s absence on Thursday night. He had six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown.

This has been one of the most productive wide receiver duos in the NFL. If they are out, it may be hard for San Francisco to move the ball through the air.
