Meredith was the arguably biggest name to transfer from the Sun Devils after their spring game. The quarterback’s best case scenario at ASU would have been being third string on the team with Trenton Bourguet, Drew Pyne, Jaden Rashada and even Jacob Conover all in the mix.

Meredith committed to the Sun Devils as a three-star prospect out of Alabama in December of 2021. He threw for 5,318 yards and 47 touchdowns in 20 regular season games during his two seasons as the varsity starting quarterback at his high school.
Meredith redshirted last season, but put together an impressive spring for the Sun Devils. He proved that he could be a starter or direct backup elsewhere with his play.
He will look to move up on the 49ers roster and play a bigger role on their team than he would have at ASU, which he is certainly capable of doing.
