The uproar in the comments section is aimed at Cole, which most fans deem “should not of gotten this award of Kelenic. Who impressively hit 4 home runs in 4 games in a row this past week.

Zac Gallen however pitched to a tune of 6.2 innings, 7 K’s, 0 walks, 0 runs on 2 hits allowed in Sunday nights outing against the Marlins. D-Backs won this game in dominating fashion, 5-0.

Also in his last start on Monday, April 10th; Gallen had an even more impressive game, 7 complete innings, 11 K’s, 1 walk, 0 runs on 3 hits allowed in a 3-0 victory for the Diamondbacks.

That is a combined 13.2 innings, 18 K’s, 1 walk, and 0 runs on 5 hits allowed over the last two starts. It is way to early to even think this, yet after what he did last season one can only wonder.

Is this the start of a scoreless inning streak once again? Could he challenge his own franchise record set last year of 44+ innings without giving up a run?

All and all, it is awesome to see Gallen celebrated as one of the MLB Players of the Week.
