The Suns fall in heartbreaking fashion to the Clippers tonight by a final score of 115-110. The Suns accounted for only 10 points off the bench as 4 of the Suns’ 5 starting lineup played 30+ minutes tonight and only one player off the bench finished with more than 10.

Devin Booker talked about the flow of the game to start and what the Suns could have done differently to hit the shots that they missed early on in the first quarter.

“I don’t know, again I have to go back and watch it. I know we started off slow but found it and got it back before the half and came out in the 3rd quarter with good energy.”

Booker finished the game with 26 points on 10-19 shooting to go along with 3 assists and he played the second most minutes tonight as he accumulated 43 minutes on the night which was second to Durant.

In the first quarter, the Clippers trapped Kevin Durant on switches and forced the ball out of his hands. This allowed wide-open opportunities but unfortunately, shots weren’t falling early in the game for the team as they started 4-11.

Booker after the game was asked what contributed to the slow start after the game and he’s not making any excuses after but acknowledged that he still has to go back and look at the film of what cost it.

“No excuses no. It’s that time of year and if you’re not up and ready to play then you’re playing the wrong sport.”

Suns’ bench accounts for just 10 points in Game One

The Suns have to go back to the drawing board after the Clippers stole a game on their home court. The Suns play the Clippers for Game 2 on Tuesday night at 7 PM AZ time.
