Phoenix has a 2-0 record against San Antonio so far this season, and it’s shaping up to be a sweep. The Suns didn’t look to let up on the Spurs in the first half, leading to a 69-51 score at halftime.

Chris Paul Steps Up in Scoring

Paul still has those nights where he can turn in scoring at a high volume. Tuesday’s predicting to be another one of those outcomes.

Paul was able to score18 points in just the first half, which helped increase the Suns decent lead.

The 37-year-old guard is averaging 13.5 points on 43 percent shooting for the season coming into Tuesday. With the addition of Kevin Durant, the heavily-needed scoring from Paul has decreased.

With the playoffs around the corner though, the Suns will welcome his hot hand in their efforts.

First Quarter Beatdown

The Spurs did nothing short of what was expected in the first quarter of play. The Suns, on another note, were on a different level than normal.

Phoenix was able to put up 42 points in just the first quarter compared to San Antonio’s 25 points.

Devin Booker was responsible for 14 points, shooting 3-of-4 from three-point range. He also had three assists, proving to be an incredible quarter.

Paul added in nine points for the quarter as well, a part of his 18-point performance in the half.

Phoenix also shot an absurd 62 percent from the field in the quarter, proving an almost impossible lead for San Antonio.

Barring any meltdowns, the road to a win on Tuesday looks simple for the Suns.
