The NBA Season is winding down, as the final stretch is among us. The Phoenix Suns have 17 games left on the 2023 season. Through the first 65 games which had some rough patches, all of which seem to be in the rearview, the Suns posted a 36-29 record.

The Phoenix Suns are currently in 4th place in a tough, close, and competitive Western Conference. Before the trade deadline, this team was full of injuries.

There was a gloom and doom feeling around the Suns. After 2-3 seasons of excellence, this season felt different. A lot of blame was put on role players as well as a few starters.

Durant is the Calm

As Devin Booker and a few other players returned from injury, the trade for Kevin Durant happened. The trade not only brought one of the best players to ever play the game to the valley, it also set the tone to win now.

Durant brought a confidence for all players that seemed to be missing in the beginning of the season. All of the pressure of the shoulders of players like Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton was immediately disbursed.

Lows and Highs of the Phoenix Suns

Starting the season off in first place in the Western Conference and rolling through oppositions quickly turned into a 12th place team due to injuries.

Since Booker’s return to the lineup and the trade for KD, the Suns have bounce back up to the 4th seed. On a 3 game winning streak there is no telling how good this team can finish down the stretch.

A third or second seed is not out of the reach, as the Suns quickly became one of the best teams in the entire league, much less the Western Conference.
