Payne’s injury was on the same foot that he injured it last month against the Houston Rockets after rolling it while trying to guard Cavs guard Donovan Mitchell. Payne subbed out of the game and felt discomfort on the foot. After the game Payne said that trainers decided to shut him down for the half.

“Our team just called it. Just told me to wrap it up for the night.”

With this happening, it forced Chris Paul to play more minutes than he typically does. He ended up playing 40 minutes and scoring 25 points. Head coach Monty Williams alluded to this after the game.

“It’s a hard way to lose a game after having our guys fight the way that they did. Losing Cam put a lot of pressure on Chris to bail us out, but tough game.”

It was tough fought out game. However the main thing now is the Suns find a way to get a win as they have now dropped 7 of their last 8 and ended up 1-5 on the road. Let’s see if they can get some momentum being in front of their home crowd.
