The Suns Are Getting Reinforcements Back To End Road Trip

© Joe Camporeale- USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns have lost 3 of their last 4 games on the road trip amidst the injuries they have had to overcome this season. But look no further, the Suns have reinforcements on their hands returning as Landry Shamet and Cameron Payne are set to return for tomorrow’s game against the New York Knicks according to the Suns.

Payne has missed the past nine games with a foot injury that he sustained in a loss to the Houston Rockets back on December 13 in the first quarter. Payne has been averaging 12.7 PPG, 5.3 APG, 2.4 RPG, and 1 STL on 41.8% shooting while shooting 38.7% from three. Shamet on the other hand has missed the last three games with right Achilles soreness that he suffered on a Christmas day loss against the Denver Nuggets. Shamet in that game tied a career-high with 31 points and made 7 threes. Shamet on the season has averaged 9.2 PPG, 2 APG, and 1.3 RPG while shooting 38.8% from three.

With starter Devin Booker still out of the lineup due to a groin strain, Shamet will more than certainly be added to the starting lineup as he has been playing when Booker has been out in the past. It’s also good to have Shamet back because he’s been on a great shooting run before he got hurt. Over the last five games, Shamet is shooting 18.8 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 2.6 RPG on 42% shooting while attempting 10 threes during that stretch.

Double Teams Are Coming For Deandre Ayton Amidst Injuries

The tip-off begins at 1 PM mountain standard time and the Suns are looking to get out of this two-game losing streak once and for all with a well-rounded performance.
