The Diamondbacks have now lost three in a row as they could not get anything going offensively in their second game of a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox.

After a Ketel Marte solo homerun in the first inning, the Diamondbacks offense fell completely silent, racking up just one more hit the rest of the game.

A remarkable 25 of the last 26 Diamondbacks’ batters were retired following a small spark in the first inning.

Zach Davies got his first start since April 8th. He threw 3.1 innings, allowing the only two runs of the game.

From the fourth inning on, both bullpens locked in, preventing any further scoring. It was a rare low-scoring affair between two of the best offenses in baseball.

Now, the Red Sox have a chance to complete the sweep, something no team has done against the Diamondbacks all year.

It will be Merrill Kelly on the mound for the D-backs, first pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM.
